Reflection on Class Presentations: Daniela Arrazcaeta

Reflection on Class Presentations: Daniela Arrazcaeta

Looking back over the past few weeks as everyone shared their themed presentations, I could really see how much our class has grown. There was a noticeable boost in confidence and effort compared to the start of the semester. Everyone seemed more comfortable speaking, more creative with their visuals, and more connected to the topics they chose. The presentations were not only more organized but also more enjoyable to watch. You could tell people took the time to apply what we learned earlier in the semester about speaking clearly, designing better PowerPoints, and engaging the audience. I honestly enjoyed this round so much more because it showed real growth, not just in our skills, but in the way we all worked together and supported each other.

Group 4: Education and Economic Growth

Group 4’s presentation about how education affects the economy really stood out to me. They took a complicated topic and made it easy to understand while still keeping it interesting. Their slides had a creative chalkboard design that fit perfectly with their theme, and it showed how much thought they put into making it visually appealing. I liked how they connected education not only to personal success but also to how it shapes society as a whole. They talked about things like tuition, student debt, and unequal access to education, all topics that feel especially relevant to us as students. You could tell they did their research and spoke with a lot of confidence. What I liked most was how they made the information feel real by connecting it to current issues. Their main message stuck with me because it reminded me that education is not just about learning facts, it is about creating opportunity and promoting fairness.

Group 3: Immigration and the Economy

My group focused on Immigration and the Economy, and I was really proud of how it turned out. This time, everything felt smoother because everyone knew their role, and the teamwork just clicked. We wanted to focus on the positive impact immigrants have rather than the politics around the topic. We talked about how immigrants contribute to industries like agriculture, construction, healthcare, and technology, and how their work helps strengthen the country overall. We also included organizations like TheDream.US and the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to show the kind of support and opportunities available for immigrant communities.

Working on this project made me appreciate how much we have grown as a group. I got to design our brochure, which was one of my favorite parts because it let me use my creativity while keeping it informative. Presenting was actually fun this time because I felt proud of what we created, and it was meaningful to share a topic that celebrates diversity and hard work.

Group 2: Healthcare and Family Well-Being

Group 2’s presentation on healthcare and families in the United States was both thoughtful and touching. Their slides had a soft, comforting look that matched the topic perfectly. They talked about how healthcare access affects families and how certain barriers can make it difficult for people to get the care they need. What really made their presentation stand out was the interview they included with a nurse from the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. Hearing her talk about how family support can help patients recover added a personal touch that made the information feel real. They also shared a story about a patient whose recovery improved because of his daughter’s daily visits, which showed how powerful emotional connection can be in healing. I really liked how they mixed personal stories with research because it made their message about compassion and accessible healthcare even stronger.

Group 1: The Environment’s Role in Health

Group 1 wrapped up the presentations with the topic of how the environment affects human health. Their slides were visually beautiful, using green tones and nature imagery that made everything flow nicely. They talked about how clean air, safe water, and healthy surroundings are just as important as medical care when it comes to staying healthy. I liked that they did not just focus on the problems like pollution but also discussed possible solutions that individuals and communities can take part in. Their presentation was easy to follow, and it made me think more about how much the environment impacts our daily lives.

Final Thoughts

After watching all the groups, I was honestly impressed by how much our class has grown, not just in knowledge, but in confidence and creativity. Each topic was so different, from education and immigration to healthcare and the environment, but they all connected in the way they focused on people and progress. These projects gave everyone a chance to show what they learned and to practice presenting in a more confident, meaningful way. More than anything, this experience showed me how powerful teamwork and communication can be. Even in a virtual setting, it felt like we were all learning from each other and moving forward together.
